…… She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. Proverbs 31:12. I read a book sometime back that all the days of her life isn’t referring to just her days as a married woman. It’s talking about the sum of her days, as a young girl, a spinster, up until she gets married.
How can you be good to him without having met or married him? By developing the qualities of a good wife before you’re one. Learn to love by being patient, kind, forgiving and temperate with all those around you. Cultivate a respectful attitude towards all those around you, both young and old, because respect is to a man what love is to a woman. Try to maintain a joyful attitude always, in spite of situations and circumstances. Joy is of the heart independent of the environment, while happiness is very much dependent on the environment.
Quit nagging. Scripture says “It is better to live on a corner of a roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife” proverbs 21:9. Be industrious and involve yourself in value adding and character building activities so you can be an asset to him and the world as a whole.
There’s so much involved in doing him good and not evil all the days of your life, but it begins with personal development. So don’t just sit around waiting and wishing girl, go work on yourself!
Here’s to doing him good… and not just him, his children too ALL the days of our lives!
