wpid-35970_all_19-01-ladypraying.jpgI remember a certain day, a long time ago, when I offended my grandmother(I won’t share the details but she was quite displeased) . The very next morning, I was having a conversation with my mum about her getting me a new handbag, and she said ” go ask your grandma, she has a lot of handbags”. My first thought was  “oh no, how do I face her after the way I behaved last night”. Somehow, I summoned courage and went to her.  I knew she was still hurt from the look on her face, but at my request, she went through her things and fetched me a really nice handbag. Her generosity was and still is touching, but my lesson learnt that day was from her generosity in spite of my ‘sin’.

As we go through life’s journey, many a times, we do things that “fall short of God’s grace”, and this makes us feel that God won’t bless us or forgive us until we have “worked our own way” to righteousness. How horribly wrong we are!. For all that God requires of us is to confess not to die for our sins.wpid-in-church-collection-sarah-004.jpg

“But if we confess our sins to Him, He can be depended on to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong. [And it is perfectly proper for God to do this for us because Christ died to wash away our sins]. 1John1:6 The Living Bible.

You cannot make yourself righteous. You must first accept the righteousness paid for by Christ before you will be enabled to live right. And a daily walk of righteousness requires a daily reliance on the Holy Spirit and a daily fellowship with God.

The message for you today is this “The sacrifices of  God are a broken Spirit ;a broken and contrite heart, O God you will not despise”. Psalm, 51:17.

A Godly woman may not be perfect, but she chooses to be sincere. Sincerely repent, sincerely confess and God will bless and restore in spite of your mistakes. He loves you!.
